Synopsis

The government of Mexico began the first tender in its history for private oil companies, as reported by news website Infolatan.com on 14 July 2015.

The fields in this tender are located in shallow waters off the Gulf of Mexico, and are part of so-called Ronda Uno, as a result of the energy reform passed following the Pacto por México 2012.

The fourteen blocks, the first out of a total of 169 to be included in Ronda Uno, are located off the coast of Veracruz, Tabasco and Campeche, near Cantarell field, covering an area of 4,222 square kilometers.

Among the companies listed for the tender, there are 11 US-based, Spain-based Cepsa, Norway-based Statoil and Mexico-based Diavaz, Sierra Oil & Gas and Petrobal.

El Gobierno mexicano ha puesto en marcha la primera licitación de su historia con petroleras privadas según ha informado el diario digital Infolatam.com el 14 de julio de 2015.

Los terrenos puestos en concurso están ubicados en aguas poco profundas del Golfo de México; estos yacimientos forman parte de la llamada Ronda Uno, en el marco de la reforma energética aprobada a raíz del Pacto por México de 2012.

Los catorce bloques, los primeros de un total de 169 que comprenderá la Ronda Uno, se ubican frente a las costas de Veracruz, Tabasco y Campeche, cerca del campo de Cantarell, y abarcan una superficie total de 4.222 kilómetros cuadrados.

Entre las empresas que figuran en el concurso hay once estadounidenses, la empresa española Cepsa, la noruega Statoil y las mexicanas Diavaz, Sierra Oil & Gas y Petrobal.
